I bought my Nikon D300s in July 2010, a year after the camera was released by Nikon. For me a amateur is D300s a very good camera and to work with. Have bought the Nikon MB-D10, it makes it more comfortable to shoot vertically and you get an extra power supply.
Have actually thought to buy an extra body with MB-D10 Battery Power Pack, but now I'm waiting to see what will be the successor to the D300s.

Bought my Fujifilm X10 autumn 2011, this is really a very good second camera. With it's retro look and compact size is Fujifilm X10 the camera you use when a SLR camera becomes ostentatious to use. The image quality of X10 is very high when you know that image sensor size is 2/3 ".
Fujifilm X10 is a quality compact camera for anyone who don't want a DSLR camera.
